When someone as levelheaded as Laura Ingraham is calling out the pace and secrecy of the Las Vegas Shooting investigation, you know the official narrative stinks. She does not don the tin foil regularly.
Maybe the increased press scrutiny has forced the hands of the authorities.
Today, Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo released a preliminary report to the press.
Of note from the report:
- Paddock acted alone
- There is another person of interest
- Charges are not expected against Marilou Danley
- Paddock, like his brother Bruce, had child porn on his computer
- Paddock researched SWAT tactics

Investigators have still not discovered what motivated Stephen Paddock to embark on the worst mass shooting in modern U.S. history but determined that he researched SWAT tactics ahead of the massacre and investigated other possible targets, including the famed California beach in Santa Monica, officials said Friday.
They also determined that Paddock acted alone when he opened fire from his high-rise hotel suite, killing 58 people and injuring hundreds, Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo told reporters.
Lombardo made public a preliminary report into the shooting and said he does not expect charges to be filed against Paddock’s girlfriend, Marilou Danley, who had been previously called a person of interest in the case. Investigators also found that Paddock had possessed child pornography, Lombardo said.
Paddock’s online searches before the shooting included research into SWAT tactics and for other potential public venue targets – and he took photographs of some potential sites, the sheriff said. The searches also included the number of attendees at other concerts in Las Vegas and how many people go to Santa Monica’s beach.
During the Friday press conference, Lombardo also revealed that police are investigating a person of interest, who is not Danley. Lombardo reiterated, however, that they believe Paddock was a lone shooter.
I stand by what I wrote in October.
Especially with the details that have emerged since, most notably that Prince Alwaleed Bin-Talal owned the top floors of Mandalay Bay. [see the storm threads for more on that and his subsequent arrest]
There are still so many agendas and disinformation tactics to sort through. I liken it to when a phlebotomist takes a blood sample that the lab rejects because it is tainted source. No accurate conclusions can be arrived at when “facts” are disseminated from the intelligence agencies to the mainstream media who, in turn, disseminate them to the public.
And both those entities have proven track records of suppressing truth and spreading lies.
Just a couple of other passing thoughts…
…Stephen Paddock was, in his own physically unremarkable way, almost straight out of Central Casting for being a spook.
- He was an accountant, a skill for which the intel agencies actively recruit.
- He was a loner with few friends and lived in many, many different places.
- He worked for Lockheed Martin.
- In his recent “career” he gambled and was a real estate millionaire. I could not think of many better ways to launder money than through casinos or properties.
- He had at least some proficiency and knowledge of firearms.
- He knew how to come up with complex logistical plans.
…Judging by how frazzled (and wonderfully human) the police chief in Vegas has been, I’d guess this is/was far larger-scale than we know.
