The Awan Brothers scandal is gaining major headway in the press lately, which is welcome news for those of us who have been crying in the wilderness about the importance of this story.
Earlier this week, Andre Taggart, the United States Marine who rented a home from Imran Awan (and who turned over key electronic evidence he found there to the authorities), gave an interview to The Daily Caller’s Luke Rosiak.
I just want to get these [guys] locked up and exposed and now,” Taggart told TheDCNF. “The people who facilitated them should also be locked up, as far as I’m concerned.”
And now, just this morning, the former Chairman of the House Oversight Committee, Jason Chaffetz, was interviewed by Maria Bartiromo on Fox News, where he is now a contributor since his retirement from Congress. Here’s what he had to say:
The segment of the video from :38 to :45 tells you all you need to know.
Bartiromo: “It’s more than bank fraud from what I hear.”
Chaffetz: “Yep. Yeah. Yep.”
That is the mock understatement of a man who has had his suspicions – and perhaps knowledge that he’d been unable to act upon in his official capacity in Congress – and is relieved that he can at last share some details.
He knows this is ready to blow the lid off of D.C.
And it looks like Debbie Wasserman Schultz and company are gonna ride it as far as it goes.
